Collected Poems Launch Events

Two launch events are scheduled for the new Collected Poems by Michael Schmidt, due to be published by Smith/Doorstop on 16 October.

The Poetry Business
MichaelSchmidt is editor of PN Reviewand Carcanet Books; his own poetry includes PBS Recommendations andSpecial Commendations, and his Resurrection of the Body wasa critical success. 16 October sees the launch of his Collected Poems. He will be reading with MichaelMcCarthy, winner of the Patrick Kavanagh Award and of the PoetryBusiness Competition 2008/09, judged by Michael Longley. Originallyfrom West Cork, Michael is a priest in Sherburn-in-Elmet. At the Races,launched tonight, is a wonderful evocation of rural Ireland by one ofthe best poetry story-tellers now writing.
